How Women Train at GB Celebration

Women at Gracie Barra Celebration train in our regular teen and adult classes (ages 14+). Classes are co-ed, coached, and structured: warm-up, technique, drilling with a partner, then positional training. You choose your partners and your intensity, and you can tell your coach if you'd like to start with drilling only.

We also run women's self-defense seminars from time to time; check the Events page for upcoming dates.

Self-Defense That Sticks

One-off seminars are a good start, but skills fade if you never practice them. Regular Jiu-Jitsu classes let you rehearse the same escapes, frames and get-ups against a resisting partner until they become automatic:

• Escaping wrist grabs, bear hugs and wall pins
• Getting back to your feet safely from the ground
• Escaping from underneath (mount and side control)
• Creating space and distance with frames

Striking Too: Muay Thai

Want to add striking? Our Muay Thai classes (14+) run Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 7:30 PM and teach punches, kicks, elbows, knees and clinch work. See the Muay Thai program.
