General Information: The In House Tournament is an event that is hosted in different times throughout the year. This event aims to prepare our students for future tournaments, it is also a great way to introduce people to competition and help them understand how a competitive environment works. The In House Tournament is exclusive to GB Celebration and GB Davenport students only.

OTHER POINTS
Unfinished moves/Less than 3 second-stabilization: Advantage (Tie Breaker).
Penalty: Inactivity or lack of combativity, forbidden grips (inside the sleeves), poor combat activity, or running out of bounds, are reasons to be punished with a penalty.
Submissions: Ultimate decision, match ends.
Disqualification: Forbidden moves, fouls, too many penalties, or illegal moves, are reasons for disqualification.
Overtime: Extra time if match ended on a tie with no penalties nor advantages.

Current Tournament Updates
Registration is now open for our fourth edition of our kids' In House Tournament. It will be another thrilling event with beautiful matches. The third edition of our Kids In House Tournament will be hosting new divisions for our teenage students. This is a great opportunity to assist our students in their preparation for future tournaments. Registration is now open on our website. If you want to experience the feeling of competition and how a competitive environment works, register as soon as possible to guarantee your spot.

We advise you to carefully check our FAQ below for full details:
A: The tournament will be on November 16th and it will be held at GB Davenport.
A: Yes, if you wish to sign up your child, the entrance fee is $40. This will help us cover expenses such as Medals, Trophies, Professional Pictures, Extra Staff, etc.
A: The deadline is November 13th, 2024. We will no longer accept any subscriptions after this date.
A: The tournament will begin at 9:00 am; however, each child will have their match times scheduled. We will email the match times and other details a day before the tournament. We ask that you show up no more than 15 minutes before the scheduled time so every family can come and see the competitor in action. If every family arrived simultaneously, we would not have space to accommodate everyone.
A: Unfortunately, no. This tournament is only for Little Champions 1 and 2 (Kids from 4 to 12 years old) and Teens (Teenagers from 13 to 15 years old).
A: We are following the IBJJF rules for competition.
A: In this event, we will allow spectators to coach, record, and cheer on the competitor without stepping on the mats.
A: Each match will be 4 minutes long.
A: We will organize the competitors in different brackets, divided by age, weight, and gender (if possible). Like in other tournaments, kids will probably fight with varying belt levels; a white belt can fight with a gray belt.
A: Yes, however, our next date has yet to be set.
A: No, this tournament is only for Gracie Barra Celebration MEMBERS. No other people from different schools are allowed to participate.
A: Every child will receive a medal. The brackets will be organized in a way that everyone earns a medal.
A: In this event, we will allow multiple spectators per competitor.
A: The competitors will weigh in before the deadline and after submitting their sign-up information. They will not weigh in on the day of the tournament.
A: Full Gracie Barra uniform (Gracie Barra Kimono Top, Gracie Barra Gi Pants, Gracie Barra Rashguard, and Belt).
A: Just like in any tournament, the matches will be tough, and the competitors will fight strong. However, the referee will analyze the match, and if he notices any danger or risk of injury, he will interfere and stop the fight, declaring victory to the competitor who was attacking.
